These ads make me want a cigarette really bad.
Who cares if people smoke. It’s just as bad as being stupid around people, second hand stupidity can affect you much more than second hand smoke. If they are legal, who are we to try to change people.
Everyone has bad habits, and people are not going to quit the most addicting one over posters.

Time for my random rant of the day! 🙂
Number 1: Yeah, we see anti-smoking adds everywhere and I agree with them, and it kills people all the time but then why are cigarettes legal? If this drug is sooo bad for you why keep it legal?
Number 2: If I see anti smoking adds, how come I also see Beer commercials on TV? Alcohol kills thousands all the time. Alcohol will cause a father to beat his wife and kill the kids, it will cause a teenager to kill someone else in a car. Why is alcohol legal?
Number 3: I notice all this and I ask, then why is marijuana ILLEGAL? It kills no one…. ever…. and it has been proven to have some positive aspects (such as medicinal use). I mean sure, maybe you don’t think it’s all great, but do you really think that it is WORSE than alcohol and tobacco??

The people who are against smoking and all for shoving the likes of death down the tobacco consumer’s throat, have already won the battle.
Smokers cannot smoke in any sort of building, like in the 30’s and 40’s, and sometimes when they are outside some one will casually walk by them and rudely cough as if it isn’t the ever so cliche ‘everyone’s air’ didn’t exist.
However
I say, grab a pack of smokes you haters and chill out. Let people do what they want to do, and one day we will all have to pay the reprocutions of what ever we have consumed.

Now I do not believe that anyone should start smoking but does anyone know why people smoke? Because it relaxes you and some people might say “oh well why not do something healthy like a hot bath or a walk in the park” and the simple answer is well I don’t have the time or don’t want to. When there is something as simple as sit down at home and enjoy a cigarette.
I can’t understand why people run smoking kills ads. Its not like someone is going to see it and say “WHAT!?! smoking is bad for you?”. I think the only reason why people actually run them is so other people who don’t smoke can just complain about smoking. Also has anyone ever seen commercials for prescribed medication. For example: celebrex a common arthritis medication
1.serious cardiovascular thrombotic events=blood clots
2.myocardial infarction= heart attack
3. stroke= your going to die or lose the ability to move half your body
4.gastrointestinal adverse events= diarreha, vomiting abdominal pain
5.perforation of stomach or intestines= your insides are gonna bleed
Where are the smear ads for this?
It’s interesting that the responses of the obvious smokers carry hostility to them. That’s the same all over the place. They always say that they do it for so and so reasons but the truth of the matter is that they’re addicted and the cigarettes are talking through them. They’re oh so adamant to defend them and to defend the practicce of smoking. They’d love it if we all started smoking so it would make them seem validated, instead of moronic. Even if these posters were only for the non-smokers, I say it’s good. If we can build even greater resistance to the idea of smoking and unnecessary addictions for the future, maybe we’ll see people less inclined to give into them. Not only that but once we can reject the idea of smoking as a society then we’ll be one step closer to freeing ourselves from the destructiveness of smoking.
Dino, as for celebrex, I can tell you that that is a completely insane comparison. Celebrex is only PRESCRIBED to those with extreme muscle problems and pain. My own father often wakes up with debilitating pain and can often only move from his bed with the use of celebrex. But again, great comparison.
The people who have told me that they smoke because it relaxes them were often horrible people who smoke and drank to get through obvious emotional problems. Is this not true? Next you’re going to say “Oh judge the smoker yah…” Yah that’s right, I am judging you. More often than not, I’ve seen judgment from the smokers when their delusional complex is shown to be faulty.
oh you idiots who say “just let em smoke” .. well would you say the same if it was a woman who was with child? “Oh let em smoke.. the worse that happens is that the baby doesn’t get enough oxygen and will probably be born all shriveled up or premature or whatever..go ahead.”
Smoking stinks >.< It is terrible for those around you because it just.. ugh, it's not like perfume. It STINKS. XP
These ads might be partially effective for people who do not yet smoke or just started, but they will not do anything for long time smokers… I always do my best not to let my smoke interfere with others (non-smokers) but you got nothing anywhere anyhow that will just make me “want” to quit… if that were possible, nothing would be needed in the first place.
Creative- yes, effective – NO
These will not make anyone quit…
